Coinstar Inc. (CSTR)-Share jumped 18 percent to $53.69. The owner of the Redbox movie-rental kiosks said third-quarter profit excluding some items was 60 cents, beating the 50-cent average of seven analysts’ estimates compiled by Bloomberg as DVD revenue surged. The company also forecast 2011 per-share earnings from continuing operations of $3 to $3.50, topping analyst projections of $2.93.
Expedia Inc. (EXPE)-Share of EXPE climbed 3 percent to $30. The biggest Internet travel agency posted third-quarter adjusted earnings of 66 cents a share, beating the 59-cent average estimate of analysts.
Deckers Outdoor Corp. (DECK)-Share of DECK rose 5.9 percent to $57.15. The maker of Ugg boots and Teva sandals raised its projected increase in 2010 adjusted per-share earnings to 22 percent from an earlier forecast of a 16 percent gain.
Monster Worldwide Inc. (MWW)-Share of MWW rallied 11 percent to $15.91. The world’s largest online-recruiting company forecast adjusted earnings in the fourth quarter of as much as 8 cents a share, higher than the 5-cent average analyst estimate.
Genworth Financial Inc. (GNW)-Stock slumped 6.8 percent to $11.40. The mortgage guarantor and life insurer reported third- quarter operating income excluding some investment results of 6 cents a share, missing the 26-cent average
First Solar Inc. (FSLR)-FSLR fell 7 percent to $140.08. The world’s biggest maker of solar power panels said third-quarter profit was $2.04 a share. Profit was expected to be $1.69 a share, the average of 27 analysts.
